**Learning Mentor - North London - ASAP Start**

A welcoming and successful North London Secondary School are seeking an organised and proactive Learning Mentor to provide student mentorship. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm, term time only. Previous School Student Mentoring experience is required.

**About the role**:
The Learning Mentor will provide effective mentoring support for any identified students to raise achievement/ attainment and improve learning and behaviour.

You will be working alongside the Pastoral and Attendance Lead, Deputy Headteachers and parents, to ensure students receive the highest levels of support.

Main duties:

- Encourage students to work hard and make exceptional progress
- Monitor the effectiveness of study sessions and report back to SLT
- Provide individual or small group support to targeted students
- Meet regularly with the SLT to identify, discuss and target-set strategies to secure the progress and attainment of students
- Provide information and advice to enable pupils to make choices about their own learning/behaviour/attendance
- Provide support to pupils to enhance their emotional health and well-being
- Help pupils to follow individual Education Plans where appropriate
- Promote and reinforce self-esteem
- Supervise students excluded from class
- Act as a positive role model
- Liaise with parents/carers as appropriate
- Maintain records as agreed with other staff, contributing to reviews as requested

Pay: £90.00-£115.00 per day
