The post holder will deliver interventions as delegated by the occupational Therapist, to support patients to achieve their optimum level of independence and quality of life in the most appropriate setting for the individual.
they will assist patients to overcome their difficulties, build confidence, and improve or maintain functional ability and independence in everyday tasks under the supervision of the OT.
they will participate in multi-disciplinary team meeting, promoting the role of rehabilitation and will take an active part in team projects.
they will organise and manage a delegated caseload.

The post holder will assist the occupational therapist to carry out Individual assessments of patients to assess what effects their illness has on their ability to engage in meaningful occupation and to carry out activities of daily living. By looking at their current occupational role and their future plans and aspirations.

they will also use Individual therapy to build confidence and self-esteem through the use of purposeful activity and well as mindfulness and relaxation skills. Run therapeutic groups that range from skill learning, distraction to relaxation with an overall focus on improving general wellbeing.

they will provide Information provision to the patient to ensure they have all relevant information that they may need and will assist with discharge planning alongside the MDT to ensure smooth transition into the next stage of their care.
