Volunteering within the Breast Screening Unit.

To support patients attending the unit and accompany them as required to waiting areas, offering them gowns, maybe offer cups of tea and to possibly just “be there” for patients.
- To support patients attending the unit
- Accompany patients to waiting areas
- Keep patients informed about waiting times, liaising with reception and clinical staff
- Provide practical help, offering advice and directions.
- Escort patients and visitors to wards or departments.
- Seeking out people who are looking lost or in need of assistance and helping them.
- Offering companionship, comfort and support to patients
- Locating wheel chairs if required.
- As necessary, you may be asked to direct patients and staff to the hand sanitizers, and ask anyone who does not have a mask to use one of the masks provided by the Trust.
- Replenish the face mask stock during your shift and ensuring the stock is replenished at the end of your shift.
