Shunter Driver

As the Shunter Driver, you will be working with our warehousing team to ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods between our sites (both of which are in Middlesbrough). You will hold both a Class 1 and Class 2 licence and will help support our teams at both sites with loading and unloading of vehicles, as well as some regional deliveries, in line with our procedures.

You will work 5 out of 7 shifts (to include weekends) and in return, you can expect to receive a salary of £30K, in a role where no two days are the same.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Moving food ingredients safely and efficiently between 2 sites
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and tidy working environment, including in-vehicle, adhering to hygiene standards, procedures and our “clean as you go” policy
- Completion of all food safety and transport documentation as required on every shift.
- Responsible for carrying out daily and weekly vehicle maintenance checks
- When required, assist with deliveries to other depots or customers
- Completion of vehicle checks prior to any journey and reporting vehicle defects
- Return empty basket and pallet equipment on each journey and unload into storage area prior to cleaning vehicle
- Refuelling of vehicles

**What you'll bring**:

- Have had a full UK / EU / EEA driving licence for at least 24 months with no more than 6 penalty points
- Full Driving Licence including Class 1 and 2
- Experience of refrigerated box body and tail lift (full training will be provided)
- A safe and courteous driver
- Able to take the initiative and use common sense
- Work well as part of a team
- Can stay calm under pressure
