Job Purpose:
The Internal Comms Senior Executive will join ORL’s tight-knit Comms and PR team to help deliver amazing and engaging internal comms to our colleagues, particularly at our Head Office site in Hatfield but also supporting Comms at our ‘Customer Hub’ (our contact centre in Sunderland).

They will help to develop creative content for use across all our internal comms including huddles with our Leadership Team, all company off-site Townhalls, and channels such as Slack and our new intranet. The content they create will be a mixture of text, imagery, slides, photography and videos - and will also be used for our LinkedIn page too.

They will also work closely with the people responsible for employee engagement in our People team to ensure we’re building awareness and driving employee satisfaction.

The role is incredibly varied and no two days are the same.

Internal comms
- Own the calendar and help shape the cadence of internal comms in Ocado Retail
- Look out and find ‘new news’, stories and activities that will engage and excite our colleagues
- Support the senior leadership team in Ocado Retail, encouraging them to be more visible and regular with their updates and sharing of information with colleagues
- Help develop creative campaigns and content, supporting our engagement plans
- Ensure employees are kept updated and informed about our strategy, company updates and how we are delivering results
- Work very closely with our People team to talk about new engagement and our Employee Value Proposition in a really engaging way
- Suggest and create new content for internal comms. Research and liaise with inspiring external speakers to develop relevant and engaging content for ORL internal events - from Q&As with Ocado brand ambassadors and celebrity chefs, to hands-on masterclasses and tastings with pioneering food producers
- Help create a positive environment so our people ‘love what we do’, especially remembering that we are foodies and we want our love of food to shine through everything that we do
- Help with the launch and adoption of our new intranet, ensuring strong, multimedia internal comms content
- Assist with the management of Slack, helping to ensure key channels are kept up to date and are a ‘go-to’ source of information
- Work closely with your PR colleagues, sharing information that will be of use to them and helping PR to sweat stories through the creation of photo/video creation for internal audiences

Wider Marketing Activities
- Work closely with the wider Marketing teams - e.g. social media, content - to understand what content is relevant and interesting for internal audiences
- Event planning, project management and coordination, especially our twice-yearly off site Townhalls
