**Role Description**

This is a full-time role for a Shift Supervisor at Vernacare in Chorley. The Shift Supervisor will be an integral part of the Distribution team providing leadership and being responsible for the day-to-day supervision, operation & monitoring of the warehouse and personnel in the department.

**Responsibilities**

1. Deputise in all functions in the absence of the Distribution Manager.

2. Provide supervision to personnel and oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of all Warehouse department equipment.

3. Lead in the training of other team members as required.

4. Operate to the correct standard to ensure despatch targets are met.

5. Deliver shift objectives in line with departmental Key Performance Indicators, including stock accuracy, picking/put away/loading efficiency, quality, and health and safety.

6. Plan, organise, and monitor the team's workload to meet despatch targets.

7. Assist in the gathering and inputting of data, using visual management tools such as spreadsheets.

8. Operate and comply with all Standard Operating, Company, and Environmental procedures.

9. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness within defined standards and procedures.

10. Proactively identify, initiate, and assist in the implementation of continuous improvement projects to enhance warehouse efficiencies.

11. Optimise the use of storage space and streamline warehouse processes.

12. Effectively communicate verbally and in written form with other team members and departments.

13. Build positive, productive, and close working relationships with colleagues in the Production, Distribution Office, and other Distribution Supervisors.

14. Participate in the weekly site fire systems test as required.

15. Be involved in stock counts and ensure compliance with quality assurance policies and procedures.

16. Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by management.
