Leeds, United Kingdom Story+ Full time

**Video Journalist - Leeds**

**About Us**

At Story+ we’re a team of video storytellers helping regional and national brands do social media video better. From strategy support through to stand-out video campaigns, our videographers push the boundaries of digital content creation every time.

That’s what we want from you; someone with a real eye for detail and ‘no limits approach’ to your craft. You’ll have a depth of experience commanding shoots and know everything that’s needed to bring a story to life through video - from good planning right through to the final edit.

We’re also the team behind Leeds+, the city’s social-first news platform with an audience in the tens of thousands on platforms like TikTok and Facebook. You’ll produce content for these channels too, documenting all things good happening in the city through compelling short-form video.

**We're looking for a Video Journalist**

- Building and maintaining relationships with key contacts and clients from across the city.
- Embracing the Story+ way of telling stories, and help to develop new ways too, using the most advanced digital tools available.
- Working to tight deadlines, often shooting and editing stories for publication on the same day.
- Upholding high journalistic standards of trust and integrity and adhering to all Leeds+ editorial guidelines.
- Assisting with other commercial productions from our TV/podcast studio facility.
- A qualified video journalist, preferably NCTJ or BJTC-accredited.
- Excellent communication and writing skills is a must.
- A competent self-shooter, with an ability to film with ‘lightweight’ (MoJo) video and sound equipment.
- Ability to edit using Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Experienced in shooting and producing news packages unassisted on location, preferably for social media.
- A passion for digital storytelling and embracing new ways of engaging audiences.
- Knowledge of the Leeds patch and the key issues affecting the city.

- Full-time staff contract.
- Up to £28,000 salary dependent on experience.
