**Job summary**:
The RAF Halton Support Wing Chief of Staff / Coordinator is the lynch pin in the Wing, providing direct support/guidance/oversight and coordination of activity / output to Wing staff and our Industry Partners, to deliver the real life services across the Station. Reporting to Officer Commanding Support Wing Wg and working alongside Wing colleagues focusing on functional delivery, the Wing Coordinator will lead the coordination and tracking of Support Wing risks reported through the bespoke risk management system, delegated budgets & performance reporting systems as well as the Support Wing task tracker to ensure the collective delivery of services. The role will lead the Wing governance and assurance activity to ensure all departments meet relevant direction and ensure all processes, procedures and doctrine are up to date and in place. Plus the coordination of the weekly Commanding Officers’ estate inspection programme and all Support Wing reporting to the Commander, and wider engagement with Station and its supported units. The position also has functional responsibility for the Station Accounts Flight delivering public and non-public accounts, managing a team of whole force personnel.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
As the Support Wing Coord at Royal Air Force Halton, you are responsible for providing support for Officer Commanding Support Wing (OC Spt Wg) through the tasking and coordination of all collective Wing activity to deliver real life support across the Station.

You will represent OC Spt Wg as required and will coordinate all Spt Wg governance and assurance activity, prepare the submissions for the Wing risk reporting, through PARMIS performance management, Command Boards, Monthly Station briefs and weekly reports to the Station Commander. Working closely with the Squadron Commanders, contractor management and functional owners to ensure all departments meet the relevant Defence direction and are following the correct procedures and oversee the Wing task tracker.

The role will also entail functional oversight and line management responsibility for the Station Accounts team, delivering public and non-public accounts services. The 4 strong team consists of 1 x OF2 Flight Lieutenant, 2 x E1s and 1 x Locally Employed Civilian (LEC) therefore previous line management experience and corporate governance awareness is desirable. The incumbent will be required to undertake the public and non-public training courses to provider deeper understanding and back fill activity for the absence of OC Accounts.

The role will also require close liaison with key colleagues in Training Wing and Ops and Plans Wing, as well as supported units on Station as required to ensure the Station Commander’s vision and overall mission is delivered.

As the lead Civil Servant in the Wg, the Coord will be required to track all currencies for all Support Wing Civil Servants and Military Line Management for mandatory training. As well offering guidance and support to all staff on Civil Service polices, recruitment campaigns and discipline/performance issues as required.

The incumbent is required to develop a knowledge of PARMIS, JPA, NBIS Commander’s Dashboard and relevant Accounts output functions. Training will be provided.

**Person specification**:
The role requires an incumbent who is professional and trustworthy. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be comfortable working alongside and communicating with a range of stakeholders including senior leaders, whole force personnel and defence industry partners management teams. This interesting and varied role will require an incumbent who is able to multi-task, have good quality IT skills, be reactive to changing situations and hold impeccable organisational skills. You will be comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions and briefing justifications. The incumbent will be required to develop a detailed knowledge of all Wing outputs quickly and therefore a previous experience indicating a wide portfolio of Station level and Headquarters level of experience is desired. Leadership and management skills are essential.

As part of the Better Defence Estate Strategy it was announced that RAF Halton would be closing 2027. The scope and potential relocation of posts is still to be identified.
