Our client is a global engineering business supplying bespoke engineered products and engineered solutions to some of the largest manufacturing companies and defence contractors worldwide.
With a UK based Head Office, the company has been trading for over 50 years and has over 1000 staff members worldwide working across 25global sites. The company focuses on large rotating machinery supplying every major sector. **The Role**:
The Energy Manager role will suit someone that is either currently working for a manufacturing company as part of the energy, environment or facilities team or someone that is consulting on energy usage and CO2 reduction into the public or private sector.This would be an opportunity to take full ownership of company energy strategy across 25 global sites and really drive your career to new heights.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the site energy and carbon management strategy.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement strategies and policies to reduce energy consumption
- Encourage the use of renewable and sustainable energy resources and raise the profile of energy conservation across the site.
- Work with departmental teams to reduce energy waste.
- Develop solutions for carbon management
- Work alongside and support the procurement department to ensure the business gain optimum contract terms for the supply of energy.
- Provide technical and practical advice and offer training on energy efficiency
- Develop promotional activities and materials to publicise schemes
- Liaise and negotiate with engineering contractors as appropriate for energy projects
- Report on energy performance for departmental managers and the Board.
- Carry out site inspections, audits and energy surveys
- Benchmark energy consumptions against best practice guidelines, where appropriate.
**Experience Required**:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of energy management, ideally within in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Familiarity with energy management software packages.
- The ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- The ability to work in teams and encourage others from shopfloor through to managerial level.
- Strong self-motivation and a determination to see a task through to a successful conclusion.
