Our Client have an exciting opportunity for **a Software Development Manager** to join their team.

Location: Sheffield (Primarily remote, expected to be in office at least monthly training will require a few weeks of regular time in office)

**Salary**: £70,000 - £80,000

**Software Development Manager** - The Role:
Due to increasing demand we are looking to expand our Development team. This is a superb opportunity for an ambitious person to join a fast-growing, disruptive technology company, building custom solutions for both commercial clients and internal projects.

The position is for a self-motivated hands-on software development manager/lead to help, our engineers/developers grow and improve, taking us to the next level.

And you are the technical expert who puts the customer first, passionately simplifiesand can take on architectural challenges to innovative solutions, while demonstrating leadership, technical competence, and craftsmanship.

**Software Development Manager -** Key Responsibilities:

- Manage multiple development teams with related systems/dependencies
- Manage significant complexity and ambiguity to deliver outcomes
- Help define the overall web software strategy to meet Product/Business goals
- Responsible for delivering high quality incremental improvements to software and systems
- Lead and coach the web development teams
- Manage the balance of waterfall vs. agile methodologies
- Use a broad and deep technical understanding, plug knowledge of emerging trends and technologies, to guide technical roadmap
- Keep teams focussed and manage pace vs pressure
- Strong understand of speed vs. quality vs. cost
- Ensure best practice is followed
- Documentation is complete
- Maintain communication between Web Dev, other teams and business

**Software Development Manager** - You:

- 7+ years of experience with a technical background in design, development, test and deployments, ideally within PHP/Laravel/Vue.js
- 3+ proven years of managing talented software engineering teams
- Strong experience managing high performing software development teams
- Good exposure to leveraging cloud technologies (preferably AWS)
- Commercial experience working in an agile environment with mature CI/CD infrastructure
- Define the system architecture and own the operational excellence
- Experience delivering on large projects
- Point of escalation
- Working with senior leadership team to execute long term technology strategy
- Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency, and drive
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
