**JOB FUNCTION**

To manage all aspects of assigned projects, to achieve schedule and cost. Meeting performance targets for technical compliance and quality standards and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

All staff are SC cleared, and maintenance of security clearance is a condition of employment

**ROLE**

Development and execution of project processes and documentation in conjunction with the

Operations Director.

Chair project review meetings.

Prepare and implement MS Project schedules in conjunction with the design and manufacturing teams.

Accountability for project financial performance

Monitor, review and prioritise work schedules with the team

Identify, manage and mitigate project risks

Ensure requirements of contract are flowed down to the project team with clearly defined tasking

Provide advice and work with team to resolve matters relating to quality, costs, work schedules, supply chain and technical issues as required

Monthly reporting of project progress 'actuals' against forecast: schedule; milestones; product cost; project cost and estimate to completion

Manage sub-contractors and work partners to ensure that the project is delivered to time, cost and quality constraints

Provide exception reporting to management as required and refer any key issues for advice and approval

Ensure that project resource demands are articulated in accordance with the company's resource management process

Ensure that the project is managed in accordance with the company's defined project execution and Lifecycle governance processes

Assist in the management and maintenance of the company’s quality management system

Keep the Operations Director informed of work progress to schedule and discuss issues arising.

Manage customer expectations, in-line with company priorities and capabilities.

Identify follow on business opportunities and make recommendations to the customer in

conjunction with the Director team

Participate in pre-bid/bid stage discussions

Manage the Project Coordinator, including allocation of tasks, review of the quality of the work, supervision and establishing any training requirements.

**Skills/Experience**

Essential
- Experience working in a Programme/Project Management team in a technical and/or defence environment
- Ability to lead teams
- Ability to communicate using a variety of different mediums, accurately and in a timely manner
- High level of capability with MS programs including Excel, Word and Project.
- Good understanding of financial reporting and management, although training will be given.
- Experience of project managing delivery of manufactured products/programmes and working with clients.

Desirable
- Experience of working with the MoD and familiarity with MoD's acquisition process
- ISO 9001 Internal auditing experience
- Experience of MRP systems.
- Knowledge of risk management processes
- Experience of working with Overseas Governments.

**Education/Training**

Essential
- Engineering qualification (e.g. HND, HNC, Diploma, or extensive experience, or a degree not

necessarily related or equ.)

Desirable
- A relevant degree or equivalent background in engineering or a technical discipline
- Programme Management related qualification (e.g. APMP, PRINCE2)
- Professional Registration (eg EngTech/IEng)
