**Job Description: Science Tutor**

**We are seeking a skilled and experienced Science Tutor** to join our team, specialising in preparing Year 11 students for their **GCSE and IGCSE exams**. This role emphasises delivering high-quality teaching, detailed marking, and ensuring exceptional student outcomes across all major UK exam boards, including **AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, CCEA, and WJEC**.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Deliver focused and engaging lessons in Science tailored to Year 11 students preparing for **GCSE/IGCSE exams**.
- Provide expert guidance on exam techniques and requirements for **AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, CCEA, and WJEC**, ensuring students are confident and well-prepared.
- Conduct detailed marking of assignments and mock exams, offering constructive feedback to enhance student performance.
- Organise and maintain accurate mark sheets, track overall student progress, and provide updates to parents and relevant stakeholders.
- Manage and discipline students in a professional and supportive manner to create a focused and productive learning environment.
- Facilitate intensive revision sessions, practice tests, and targeted exercises to reinforce knowledge and exam readiness.
- Foster a motivating atmosphere to build student confidence and academic resilience, ensuring they are fully equipped for their exams.
- Stay updated on curriculum changes, assessment criteria, and literary trends relevant to **GCSE/IGCSE Science**.
- Collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues to address challenges and meet academic goals.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- A degree in Science or a related field (required).
- Proven experience teaching Year 11 students, with expertise in **GCSE and IGCSE** **Science** curricula for **AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, CCEA, and WJEC** exam boards.
- Exceptional skills in detailed marking, constructive feedback, and organising student progress reports.
- Strong classroom management abilities, with a professional approach to discipline and engagement.
- Proficiency in designing tailored lessons and exam preparation strategies for Year 11 students.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills to thrive in a fast-paced educational environment.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve academic excellence.

Pay: £15.00-£25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 32 per week
