**JOB DESCRIPTION. JOB TITLE: CEMETERY OPERATIVE.**
**A Full UK Driving Licence is Mandatory as driving** **vehicles and equipment is necessary**
Previous experience can be an advantage however not necessary, as all training can be provided on the job. It’s far more important that you can empathise with grieving family members and have a genuine desire to help - along with always showing the utmost respect to the deceased and their loved ones. You’ll also need to be comfortable with being around (and potentially handling) coffins.
We are looking to recruit a full-time Cemetery Operative who is hardworking, motivated, compassionate, respectful and a team player.
**The role is as a cemetery grounds person with role detailed below**:
**Main purpose of job**:
To assist the Cemetery Manager/Funeral Managers to organise and carry out any arrangements and operations for burials/funerals and all aspects of ground maintenance in the cemeteries. To ensure a safe and efficient working environment for all parties concerned
**Relationships**:
Responsible to: Cemetery Manager, Funeral Manager & Company Managers
Liaise with: Work colleagues, Funeral Directors, Memorial Masons & Visitors
**Main Tasks of Job**:
Take instruction from management to carry out preparation or participation in any aspect of burial and ground maintenance including but not exclusively grave excavation & backfills, weeding, planting & pruning, grass mowing, strimming (bush cutter), excavate & build founds, maintenance of property boundary walls and pathways etc.
Ensure economical and efficient use of transport, premises, equipment, plant & consumables.

- Have a passion for delivering great customer service with reliability a must.

- Be able to work as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be flexible and happy to assist wherever necessary.
- Be able to complete all necessary paperwork.

**Salary**: £12.60 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
