**Main duties**:
- Fulfilling the requirements of, attending and completing a PG Diploma at King’s College London including practical, academic, and practice-based assessments, alongside private study.
- With the assistance of the line manager accept appropriate referrals and assess children, young people and their families for suitability for an SFP intervention.
- Formulate, implement and evaluate an appropriate therapeutic intervention for the needs of the child/young person.
- Record case notes and weekly engagement in the family folder case record and complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
- Attend clinical/managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with the line manager, respond to agreed objectives; and ensure personal development plan maintains up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments.
- To work as part of the wider CYP-MH team in Lewisham, contributing to ongoing service development, and committing to high-quality delivery and excellent professional standards in practice at all times.
**Essential criteria**:
- A registerable professional qualification (e.g. clinical or educational psychology, social work, teaching, counselling, nursing, etc).
- At least two years’ experience of working with children with behavioural problems and their families, including experience of using parenting approaches, and demonstrating an appreciation of the range of factors that can impact on the presentation of child behavioural problems.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the impact of trauma and challenging family circumstances on children’s development, of issues relating to safeguarding children and young people and with recent experience of working effectively with safeguarding issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with children, young people and their families, maintain a reflective stance in emotive/challenging interactions, and work to enable and empower parents to make positive decisions about their children and their family lives.
