Join Thornford Park Hospital as an Assistant Psychologist and get access to the hands-on experience, where you can be a part of meaningful change. Working 37.5 hours a week, you will join the team on the medium-secure male learning disability ward, Tadley at Thornford Park. The service has over 140 beds that provide Forensic Mental Health rehabilitation, PICU and ASD services, which are set in 21 acresof Berkshire countryside. Reporting to the Lead Psychologist, you will be guided and supervised as you assist with assessments (cognitive and joint), formulations, care-planning and delivering psychological interventions within individual and group settings. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will assist in clinically related administration, conducting audits, collecting statistics and delivering training and project work. You will hold a small caseload of clinical work and maintain a regular presence on theunit you are allocated to. With regular supervisions from a Registered Psychologist and a range of CPD and training opportunities, you'll see your career grow as youachieve your aspirations. **Other responsibilities**: - Assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups, including screening interviews, pre and post-group assessments, co-facilitating groups, helping participants with homework tasks, writing reports. - communicate and receive highly complex and contentious information (e.g., about sexual, physical, and emotional abuse) - Undertake risk assessment and management for individual service users **What you will need**: - A Psychology degree - 2.1 or above and to meet professional practice expectations and the BPS code of ethics - A BPS accredited recognised degree in Psychology conferring Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR) - Experience of working within a similar environment will be advantageous **What you will get**: - Annual salary of £21,420 - The equivalent of 33 days annual leave - plus your birthday off - Free meals and parking - Wellbeing support and activities - Career development and training - Pension contribution - Life Assurance - Enhanced Maternity Package There are also a range of other benefits including retail discounts and special offers, car leasing without a credit check and much more.
