**Principal Engagement Consultant - Communications and Engagement**

**We are looking for Principal Engagement Consultant to join our growing team. You will join a fast-paced and growing** **consultancy team that helps clients connect with their communities and stakeholders and involve them in the decisions that impact the way they live, work and travel. We deliver public consultation, community engagement, and behaviour change programmes, and analyse the outcomes of these to shape how local authorities deliver projects.**

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Be responsible for leading and delivering stakeholder engagement, consultation, and communications activity for a wide range of projects - including, active and sustainable transport, parking strategies, and regeneration projects
- Ensure all activities are delivered on time and within budgets
- Be accountable for ensuring high-quality communications and engagement outputs are delivered from project inception to completion.
- Manage the workload, development and wellbeing of Senior Engagement Consultants and Engagement Consultants
- Build strong rapport with our clients across the UK, providing them with high-quality advice in the development of consultation, engagement, and communication delivery
- Take on leadership across the wider team through process improvement, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and encouraging innovation
- Work effectively with, and provide high-quality support to internal teams to achieve project objectives
- Support business development and our growth strategy, including bid submissions and client management

**We’re looking for someone who has**:

- Leadership experience, coaching and managing a busy team and workload to achieve high quality results
- Several years’ experience working in a consultation and engagement role; planning and implementing engagement and consultation strategies and activities encouraging buy-in from a range of stakeholders
- Knowledge and experience of consultation planning and delivery including equalities impacts
- Experience of matrix management, working across a multi-discipline company
- An ability to build effective working relationships with clients, including local government, and a wide range of strategic and community level stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal skills to produce communications, consultation strategies and plans, surveys, web copy and promotional materials, translating technical detail into plain English
- Understanding and experience of managing budgets and time allocation
- Experience developing new and innovative engagement methods, including the development of our consultation portal
- Experience of data collection, analysis and report evaluation
- Experience of working in the infrastructure or planning sectors, and associated processes is beneficial but definitely not essential

**What you’ll receive**:

- £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
