Playwork Assistant

To assist the Leader in providing a caring, fun, secure environment, through individual attention and group activities, and to organise an appropriate range of leisure activities for children between the ages of 3-12.

**Summary of responsibilities and key responsibilities**:

- To be responsible for the provision of creative and appropriate play opportunities, preparation of activities, organisation of club, within a safe caring environment that must meet the needs of children with differing abilities
- Ensure that all children are treated as individuals regardless of race, culture, gender, or disability
- To be responsible for ensuring that the building/equipment/materials are kept tidy and in good working order.
- Prepare & serve snacks at appropriate mealtimes
- To attend planning, training and staff meetings as requested
- To ensure the safety and accountability of all children at all times.

**Qualifications**

Essential
- Level 2 Childcare Qualifications or Completion of a full and relevant Playwork qualification at Level 2 or 3 (e.g. NVQ Level 2 in Playwork. (If Level 2, must be prepared to work towards Level 3 if requested)

Desirable
- Full certificate in childcare, learning and development L2 OR L3.
