**Derby College Group (DCG) have a new opportunity for a 2 Student Experience & Pastoral Coaches to join our team and work alongside specific academies to identify students in need of pastoral support. **The Opportunity**

**You’ll work directly with students and their families to establish and implement a Pastoral Support Plan, with a specific focus on attendance and behaviours. You’ll deliver a range of extracurricular activities which develop students’ social skills and enable them to discover their character, alongside helping to create a student community, and encourage and support student-driven initiatives.**

**You’ll also be trained as a Safeguarding Officer supporting the wellbeing of students and will act as a Mental Health First Aider supporting students with their wellbeing. Full training will be provided.**

**About you**

**We are looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic and ambitious individuals. You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and hold a level 3 in coaching and/or mentoring or be willing to work towards this. You’ll be a Mental Health First Aider or willing to work toward achieving this with full support.**

Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.

Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
