**The post holder will**:
1. Ensure patients, visitors, relatives and staff are met in a friendly, helpful manner
2. Reception patients and visitors and direct them to appropriate areas as required.
3. Communicating with a range of patients in a helpful and reassuring manner whilst preparing them (assisting with undressing) for diagnostic imaging examinations. Communicating with other healthcare professionals - nursing and hotel services - to ensure smooth running of the service.
4. Liaising with clinical staff over the preparation requirements of individual patients and assisting with the subsequent radiographic examination.
5. Acting as initial point of contact with patients, e.g. confirming ID and demographic information and amending records where necessary, using the Radiology Information System (RadIS).
6. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all examination rooms, changing and waiting areas and ensuring availability of adequate stock levels - disposables and clean linen.
7. Scanning patient examination request forms onto electronic database and maintaining integrity of the archive by regular back-ups.

The Radiology Directorate in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has expanded and an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Band 2 Patient Flow Support Worker with an interest in patient care / radiology services to join our friendly, busy team. The successful applicant will be based at the Radiology Department at Princess of Wales Hospital.

This is an exciting new role for the Radiology Directorate and provides the successful applicant the opportunity to develop administrative and clinical skills throughout the various specialties. Duties will include assisting, escorting and chaperoning patients and various administrative roles to include inputting, amending patient data into the Radiology Information system, and taking an active role in maintaining an efficient workflow of patients throughout the department.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
