**Behaviour Mentor - SEPTEMBER - Tiverton**

Would you like a position that also gives you the chance to deliver outdoor learning?
If successful, you will be responsible for supporting pupils who display challenging behaviour and have social, emotional and mental health difficulties. You will need to meet the criteria below to be short-listed for the position due to the nature of the role.
**The School**
The pupils are referred from the Local Authority or direct from Plymouth Primary Schools. The pupils are excluded or at risk of exclusion so all display challenging behaviours. Children are taught in a personalised thematic curriculum designed to re-engagethem into education.
Pupils have a high level of support with a 1:1 learning mentor. The aim is that the pupil can return to education with better personal skills and strategies to support them. There is a strong emphasis on assessment of the whole child and sharing this both formallyfor SEND assessment but also with family and home school use.
The package each pupil receives is designed to support them and their family to stabilise and be better equipped to regulate behaviour and engage in academic learning. The aim is for pupils to move back into a long-term education setting as quickly as possibleso they can build a new bond with that community. Total number at any one time is 10. The aim is to have a quick turnaround with pupils moving on to long-term placements and our support being available to new pupils.
**The Role**
Pay will be between £75 per day when through the agency. Following the temp to perm period the salary will be £15,685 per annum. This salary is the actual figure after pro rata.
You will also be entitled to £0.45p per mile when out doing outdoor education.
Access to a vehicle would be beneficial.
You will be given a full training programme with support in MAPA de-escalation and LOTC (learning outside of the classroom) training alongside health and safety and first aid. These roles are full time and there are contracted opportunities within the school.
