**Job overview**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a customer focused and highly motivated individual to join our Library and Knowledge Services team. The postholder will take specific responsibility for providing high quality outreach and evidence search services to all staff and students within the Northern Care Alliance and partner organisations, supporting the delivery of effective care and wellbeing and underpinning the organisation’s research agenda.

You must be able to manage your time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.

**Main duties of the job**:

- Embedding library services into clinical and management teams
- Delivering high-quality, evidence-based search and synthesis services
- Undertaking advanced and complex literature searches by accessing a variety of sources including clinical and management databases and evidence sources
- Delivering training in information and digital literacy with an understanding of teaching theory and methodology
- Undertaking staff management responsibilities

- Degree or postgraduate qualification in librarianship/information science/Knowledge management.

**IT Skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Excellent IT skills
- Experience in systems such as Microsoft Office, Library Management Systems, online resources

**Written communication skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Excellent written communication skills

**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- At least two years post
- qualification experience in a library / information service.
- Knowledge of NHS / Healthcare library information service.

**Evidence Search Services**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Excellent knowledge and experience of using information resources such as Medline, CINAHL, Cochrane, etc
- Ability to conduct advanced literature searches
- Ability to provide summarising and synthesising services

**Outreach Services**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Ability to provide Outreach Services.
- Ability to provide Clinical Evidence Specialist service

**Teaching skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Experience in training users

**Critical Appraisal skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Advanced critical appraisal skills and familiarity with the hierarchy of evidence-based healthcare.

**Staff Management skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Ability to supervise and support staff and develop team skills.
