**ASSISTANT DAY TEAM **LEADER**

**Job Purpose**:
**To provide support in helping the Management and Logistics team to continuously improve the warehousing operations on the day shif**t.**

**Key Accountabilities to include**:

- Liaising closely with the Manager and Co-ordinator on a daily basis, communicating and liaising with departments, staff and Directors as required their absence. Covering the key aspects of the Managers role during times of absence.
- Assisting the Warehouse and Logistics Manager with staff management by providing daily shift direction and coordination for the Day, Goods-In and Replen team.
- Assisting with the management of stock control, processing of orders and distribution of goods
- Assist the management of picking activity; ensuring that all tolerance levels are adhered to and company targets met.
- Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.
- Completing job related paperwork
- Co-ordinating drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys
- Maintaining standards of food hygiene and security in the work environment.
- Picking and packing, checking, loading & unloading, wrapping and processing of deliveries, working alongside team members on a day to day basis, whilst also ensuring maximum productivity is met by all team members
- Sign off loads, reviewing for accuracy.

- Good leadership skills
- Able to work to some degree from own initiative in this role
- Self-motivated and a fast learner
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Flexible attitude to working hours
- Good attention to detail
- An understanding of quality control systems
- Sound knowledge of H&S, especially Manual Handling requirements and the implementation of this
- Good knowledge of Food Safety legislation and the Company HACCP Plan and of the requirements within the business
- Good understanding of key HR management procedures and policies
- A Current FLT Licence is desirable

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £23,380.00 per year
