We at Milestone are looking for a Groundworks Operative / Construction Worker / Labourer to join our Highway Maintenance team based at our depot in Sandford and working across the North Somerset area. A training and development programme will be provided to develop your competence in this role and to prepare you for a career path with Milestone.

You will be working as part of a 2, 3 or 4 person team delivering small highway maintenance and improvement projects, whilst also willing to assist with the out of hrs winter maintenance and emergency call out activities via a standby rota.

**Key Responsibilities for a Groundworker**:

- Work on small highway, footpath, drainage, signing and kerbing projects.
- Operate plant and equipment necessary for the project delivery
- Undertake out of hours emergency call out works
- Undertake out of hrs winter maintenance driver duties

**Essential Skills & Experience**:

- Clean driving License
- A commitment to Health and Safety
- Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy
- Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers
- Willingness to assist in Emergency Response duties
- Commitment to Customer Service

**Desirable**:

- CSCS Card
- Small tools and equipment training
