The Storeperson is a key role for our warehouse, field service divisions and our trade sales division. You will ensure that equipment and stocks are available for engineers who are responsible for completing installation projects, customer repairs and service visits at customer sites, they will also ensure that all customer orders are organized for delivery via courier or collection in person from stores. It is of paramount importance that stock and equipment is allocated to the correct scheme of works and engineers to ensure accurate job costing and that the engineer arrives to a customer site with all the correct consumables to complete the planned works. All aspects of administration to support smooth operations must be demonstrated and all behaviours in support of our values must be evident throughout your employment.
**Responsibilities**
Day to day management of the stores department in a safe and orderly manner, including key holder responsibilities where applicable and ensuring the branch/department is opened at the start of the day and locked and alarmed at the end of the day and in periods of shut-down.
Raising and receiving trade customer’s Purchase Orders and supporting the order through our Exact system
Raise invoices for all trade customer purchases through Exact and taking payments from trade customers.
Picking orders for internal customers.
Managing stock and ordering parts for engineers, take responsibility for arranging deliveries to our engineers and branches.
Ensure internal and external customers aware of any stock shortfall and revised delivery dates or substitution products.
Arrange deliveries to customer sites and organise any collections from the same.
Administer claims for missing or damaged deliveries.
Ordering of all workwear as requested by the HR/Service/Install Department.
Demonstrating and promoting a proactive approach to health & safety, well-being and the environment whilst complying with the law and Company policies and procedures.
Conduct vehicle stock takes, stores stock takes to provide stock figures and tool inspections where required - reporting any shortfalls and damage to the relevant Divisional Managers.
Issue new starter equipment and stocks in line with the relevant position lists. Provide any engineers with additional / replacement equipment on request making note of issued equipment and ensuring the equipment / plant asset register is updated and relevant departments are informed.
Management of daily deliveries and goods inwards including checking of delivery notes and signing for goods received. Movement of stock and effectively managing stock to be collected and delivered.
Checking/unpacking of stock as received ensuring it is correct and putting into stores/updating stock position on the relevant systems and ensure stock rotation processes are adhered to as appropriate to ensure nil wastage of stocks.
Checking maintenance of vehicles where required to ensure compliance with company vehicle policy.
Working closely with all departments, especially Purchase, Invoicing and Job Planning, through effective and appropriate communication.
Process returns to suppliers on weekly basis ensuring correct information is given/returns authorizations are obtained where necessary.
Pay: From £24,000.00 per year
