We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Head of Legal to join our Legal team, You will lead the timely delivery of contracts and day to day legal advice and support to allow Evri, the UK’s largest dedicated parcel delivery company, to continue to grow and innovate to meet its national and international clients and customers’ needs.

**You will be accountable for**:

- Leading and managing the commercial legal team of 5 solicitors at Evri so that: Evri’s directors, senior managers and project teams are provided with sound, clear and appropriately pragmatic commercial legal advice when needed or, where possible, before it is needed; Evri’s contracts with its clients and suppliers:

- adequately protect and further Evri’s commercial interests;
- mitigate legal risk appropriately; and
- are completed in a timely manner

Evri’s eCommerce business continues to grow and develop with new strategically important 3rd party relationships
- Ensuring that there an effective ‘legal wrap’ is provided to the parts of Evri’s business that are engaged in new and emerging growth markets
- Evolving the commercial legal team so that it can provide frictionless legal support to a product centric business
- Leading the legal support provided to Evri’s international and fulfilment business
- Completing the most strategically important and/or valuable contracts the business has either yourself or by supporting the relevant legal counsel
- This role is Hybrid, between working at home & our office in Morley in Leeds._

To be successful you will have circa 10-year post qualification experience in commercial law, preferably working in industry for a good proportion of that time. Experience of giving legal advice to C-Suite and directors. You will have the ability to inspire and manage a diverse commercial legal team and be a credible and approachable generalist who is regarded as an expert internally and can explain legal issues clearly, without reliance jargon, in a way that real commercial impact.

You will also;
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- Company secretarial experience is desirable but not essential
- Excellent technical legal skills and knowledge of commercial law
- Excellent communicator with a down-to-earth approach to working with people and teams
