Designer - Maternity Cover

We’re looking for a Designer to join our busy, commercial, design studio for approximately 9-12 months. Part of the Hallmark design team you’ll design for products that embody the Hallmark brand and simultaneously set the bar for our customers. Landscapes, life drawings, objects, florals, water colours, pattern, we’re looking for our go to on all things classical, traditional and beautiful.

Through your designs you’ll help other live a caring, connected life, full of meaningful moments, expressing a ranges of sentiments on behalf of our customers. Whilst your day will vary you’ll:

- Visually bring to life creative briefs that meet the overall creative strategy, in line with critical date paths
- Works on a variety of briefs, concepts and projects to create innovative, sustainable and commercially appropriate designs that meet the parameters of a brief
- Source and shares inspirational material that translates consumer insight and trend with understanding of social expression and emotional connection
- Communicate original ideas using a breadth of resources, references and design styles to drive compelling design development
- Work with technical teams, seeking inventive and clever design approaches to ensure COGs and VFM priorities

A unique opportunity to join a well-established, busy design studio, we’re looking for you to demonstrate:

- A keen interest and awareness of commercialised design trends that you seamlessly factor into your work
- You’re a skilled designer, at ease with digital design software physical design, and a clear flair for composition, typography, colour, scale and formatting, whether you’re designing from scratch or manipulating readily available artwork
- Skilled with Adobe software Photoshop and Illustrator
- Experience of designing for FMCGs, ideally conveying emotions, sentiments or messages
- You’re self-motivated to achieve results and establish a high level of productivity
- You’re open to feedback and always looking to develop your design skills and that of your peers.
- Experience of working in multi-skilled team, at ease with working to deadlines and sometimes, conflicting priorities
- A constant learner who self-challenges to keep evolving their individual and collaborative design contribution
- Experience of working with and/or designing Licensed artwork, would be a significant advantage, but not essential
