Consultant Anaesthetist

This substantive position is a replacement post. You will be required to contribute to the provision of anaesthetic services across the Trust as part of a team of 32 Consultants, 10 SAS doctors and 19 trainees. We support the usual range of district hospital surgical specialties, in addition to the regional Plastic Surgery and Burns service, and the supra-regional Spinal Injuries service. The anaesthetic department has a reputation for being extremely friendly and supportive, and is very highly regarded by trainees in the region. In addition to strong interests in medical education and service improvement, including enhanced recovery and pain management, our Consultants enhance the profile of the department through their engagement in a variety of wider Trust activities and transformation work.

We are currently advertising for one post however, by the time of the interview, we may be able to appoint to further posts.

Due to the ability to adjust the management of sessions between anaesthesia and intensive care among the current consultants, we could appoint to this post flexibly and so would also welcome sole ICU CCT holders and those with a dual interest in a medical specialty to apply, please see our separate advert under Intensive Care Medicine.
