**Manufacturing**A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Testing Manager/Senior Engineer with a leading and increasingly successful manufacturing organisation based in the Greater Manchester area on a full-time permanent basis.
**The Testing Manager will be required to do the following;**:

- Be responsible for the control and management of all destructive and non-destructive testing activities/ deliverables
- Destructive testing conventionally being, fire, ballistic, security, blast, fatigue, water-tightness; Non-destructive testing conventionally being, acoustic, smoke, thermal, pressure.
- Production and management of testing strategy documentation to optimise the number of tests required to satisfy full package/ project assurance.
- Production of all pre-test and post-test documentation as required by the business/ project.
- Final sign-off on all pre-test FATs at the company’s facilities prior to shipping.
- Final sign-off following product installation at test facilities prior to testing.
- Attendance at all testing (domestic and international), reporting on all failures, and proposals for remedial works as required.
- Responsible as the company “expert” on testing and assessment standards, including but not limited to:

- Fire Integrity & Insulation (BS EN 1634-1, BS 476-22, PFPF - Assessment Rules for Metallic Doorsets) Security (LPS 1175 v8.1) General (CDM Regulations, Building Regulations Part M, DHF-TS-012)
- Work closely with the Sales, Estimating, and Aftermarket business unit to identify NPD opportunities, and support composition of business cases for investment.
- Continual positive and collaborative communication with project teams to ensure visibility of testing and assurance status
- Contribute to discussions around technical feasibility and appropriate design approaches from a testing perspective, at concept, and DFM phases of projects.
- Maintain awareness of current technological developments and accepted industry standards.
- Complete adherence to companies Engineering procedures in accordance with our ISO 9001 certification.
- Fully responsible for the development and maintenance of the company product technical matrix.
- Attend meetings and liaise with customers on any testing arrangements or results, as required.

**The Testing Manager is required to have the following;**:

- Experience in configuration management, destructive testing, and adherence to engineering standards.
- Previously operating as a Fire Engineer or Commissioning Engineer, would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of technical standards for design and testing relevant to BI core markets and products (as defined in responsibilities section).
- Understanding of steel plate manufacturing principals and constraints, including laser cutting, weld limitations and press machinery.
- Good knowledge of supporting structure materials, and the impact the structure can have on test performance (typically, steel, concrete, brickwork, blockwork).
- A focus on quality adherence and output.
- Planning, managing, and reporting project tasks and responsibilities.
- Flexibility to work overtime to achieve project plan as required, with a desire to travel.
- Ability to write reports and specifications (MS Office suite).
- Strong communicator with internal and external customers alike.
