**Permanent role with degree programme study**

We are working with a global fine chemical and petrochemical company in Ellesmere Port, who are seeking an Apprentice Chemist. This role will involve you working on a degree programme at University, while being a paid member of the chemistry laboratory teamat our client.

**What you’ll do**:
This role will see you working in the laboratory facility and undertake training in chemistry activities related to the sites’ production of fine chemicals.

You will be using lab equipment and following processes very precisely laid out, in Standard Operating Procedures (known as SOP’s) at all times. There is a team of experienced chemists who you will work with, and this role will contribute to the laboratorywork through bench based activities instructed by the team leadership.

The role will see you given very precise instructions and trained well before you undertake these lab activities.

Chemical companies are environments where Health and Safety is the highest priority and therefore full training will be given on aspects like personal protective equipment, and how you keep yourself and colleagues safe while undertaking these lab activities.

In addition you will be studying at University and this will involve travelling to Kent each 3 months for meetings related to the course. The degree programme you will be on will be via distance-learning.

**Your background**:

- 80 UCAS Point including A-Level or equivalent in Chemistry
- =6 at GCSE English and Maths
- Ability to learn new techniques and conduct these correctly and safely
- A good understanding of modern computer software
- No previous lab experience is required
