**Assistant Project Manager**
Intermarine has an interesting position available as part of it’s expansion into the Marine Infrastructure Maintenance Sector. The work will involve looking after an important maintenance contract for a Wind Farm Operator.
The three initial sites are in the north of England, at Barrow-In-Furness, Grimsby and Birkenhead. The role will involve managing the day-to-day coordination of specialist sub-contractors and direct delivery of planned and unplanned maintenance work on thesites shoreside marine infrastructure. This includes Pontoons, Bridges, Cranes, Fuelling Systems, Lighting, Electrical, Water supply, bilge and waste oil.
The individual will organise a planned maintenance program, review and prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments, supervise sub-contractors, liaise with the client and investigate technical issues. They will also work with Spacewell Maintenance managementsystem, and feed information/results up to the Project Manager.
A good technical/troubleshooting mindset and ability to build rapport with client site staff will be critical. The ability to study and develop understanding of the various systems and innovate new technical solutions will be the keystone of the role.
The individual will be supported by a Project manager and will have the opportunity to develop into a bigger and broader role.
**Role Requirements**
- 1+ years post Academic work experience or 5+years trade/construction experience
- Will also consider, trade based experience working up to site management level on construction sites or a facilities management background.
- Having previous project management experience but not essential.
- Knowing project management methodology and leadership qualities.
- Demonstrate high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel
- Specific knowledge of the coastal processes / marine environment.
- Advanced knowledge of the site safety culture ‘the right way or NO way’ to range from RAMS reviewing to H&S site audits.
- Have a basic understand of technical drawings/schematics for either electrical / mechanical systems.
- To be able to handle a fast pace high level of reporting while maintaining accuracy and being concise.
**Role Responsibilities**
- As the Assistant Project Manager gains an understand of the job role he/she will be required to develop detailed plans for a project, including the schedule, the budget, outlining the duties of each team member/sub-contractor, identifying project aims goals,and setting a timeline for the project. They collaborate with various teams and hold meetings to develop project plans and present them to upper-level management before starting the project.
- It is important that the Assistant Project Manager closely monitors each project he/she manages to ensure that projects scope is covered in a quotation, remain on track, meets deadlines, stays under budget, and develops according to schedule. He/she willbe responsible not only for identifying project objectives, but ensuring that they’re met.
- Once a project is complete, the Assistant Project Manager, in conjunction with the Project Manager, is responsible for gathering and documenting all project results and then reporting or presenting them in the appropriate high level of reporting to therelevant parties. This includes clients and upper-level management. They must report on the success of the project and any setbacks that were encountered or room for improvement.
- The Assistant Project Manager must be a detail-oriented multi-tasker. He/she must have a high level of communication skills and be able to easily adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining a holistic view of all projects.
**Company**
Intermarine has been designing and building Pontoon Systems since 1992. They design, supply, and install pontoons, marinas and moorings for the leisure and commercial sectors.
They supply concrete, aluminium, and steel pontoon systems both as standard products and as bespoke solutions.
The company have recently expanded further into the commercial sector working on solutions for MOD and Offshore Energy Clients including long term maintenance contracts.
About 50% of their work is in the UK and 50% overseas, mostly in Europe but occasionally further afield.
