**About us**

Reloved is a Community Cafe run by Coatham House working with volunteers, apprentices and trainees as part of a young person’s development.

Coatham House is a long-established charity whose core work is with marginalised homeless young people across Redcar. It currently provides a hostel and accommodation across several properties in the borough. The charity is responsible for the Reloved Café providing a community resource alongside training, volunteer and development opportunities for young people. We offer a friendly and supportive working environment.

As part of the café’s development it is now seeking to recruit two café chef/cooks to work with the existing team to ensure its growth and development. This is an exciting opportunity to bring in fresh ideas to share with the team to develop the project.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**

Work as part of a team to help design and execute café menu, cake board, drinks and snacks.

Oversee ordering ingredients, drinks and equipment.

Keep a sanitised and orderly environment in the kitchen, ensuring food safety best practices are adhered to and all kitchen staff do the same.

Ensure cafe is kept clean and hygienic and meets Covid-19 levels of responsibilities.

Coach and encourage other members of kitchen staff so they perform at their best.

Take responsibility for liaising with colleges, training providers to deliver quality outcomes for placements and trainees.

Ensure high standards of customer service are met at all times.

Provide a point of contact in the absence of Reloved Project Manager.

Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety requirements.

Other duties as reasonably required.

**Person Specification**

Excellent and imaginative cook.

Some kitchen-based experience - essential.

Good organisational and time management skills.

Able to cook a variety of café foods including drinks, cakes, snacks and main meals.

Ability to work as part of an established team.

Able to work quickly and accurately during busy periods.

Some experience of managing volunteers desirable.

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or above.

Determination to make the café a success in terms of its overall impact.

Sense of humour.

**Salary**: £9.50-£10.80 per hour
