Are you a passionate, highly motivated executive function freelance coach looking to work for an organisation that values work-life balance, and strives to make the world a better place? Then keep on reading, as an exciting opportunity has arisen for freelance coaches to work with us and our clients.
**Who are we?**
Connections in Mind is a pioneering education start-up offering evidence-based coaching programmes to support children and adults with organisational, learning, and emotional challenges. Our programmes are delivered by our freelance coaches with backgrounds in psychology, education, and coaching, and we pride ourselves on offering a bespoke support service to our clients. This is enhanced by a unique supervision and management programme that ensures excellent and consistent standards of coaching across the organisation. We currently have a pool of 40 coaches and we aim to grow this to 100 over the next three years.
**Who are you?**
We imagine you to be a self-motivated individual who is passionate about bringing about positive change. You are a process-oriented, detail-oriented person with a growth mindset who loves to support people. We imagine you to be outgoing and dynamic, have experience working with neurodiverse children, but also professional and able to articulate and manage the relationship with parents and adult clients. Technology skills are a must, as they will help you work more efficiently and give you insights into trends within your work.
We imagine you to be a fully trained coach with previous experience being a life or transformational coach, psychologist, other mental health professional or a qualified teacher who has coached young people and/or adults.
**The role**
This role is a freelance role where you will be supporting and delivering some of our programmes to our adolescent and/or coaching our adult clients to improve executive function skills such as planning, prioritising, time management, organisation, emotional regulation and metacognition.
You would need to build a strong rapport with your clients, with consistency and reliability being key. Your client base will range from primary-aged children right to university students and adults, depending on your experience and qualifications.
**Working hours**
Coaching usually combines face-to-face sessions, online sessions, occasional supportive text messages, and other written communication.
If you are going on holiday you would need to give a month’s notice. We also operate an annual shutdown in the first two weeks of August to give coaches and their clients time to relax.
**Rates**
Rates for this work are calculated hourly and start between £45 and £50 an hour, depending on experience.
Rates are billable monthly at the end of the month for payment at the end of the following month. As a new and rapidly growing organisation, we offer excellent opportunities for progression and personal development.
Travel expenses for face-to-face sessions are covered.
**Training**
All training is conducted virtually. Please note there are 2.5 hours of self-study time required between each training session.
The training is compulsory; you **MUST** be available to attend **ALL** sessions. (Training dates and times below)
**CPD (Continuous Professional Development)**
As part of our commitment to excellence and continued professional development we also ask that each coach attend monthly supervision of 50 minutes to discuss the clients they are working with as well as a quarterly 30-minute CPD supervision. They are also required to partake in regular CPD on relevant topics. Our CPD time is seen as our investment in our coaches' professional development and is unpaid.
Connections in Mind only recruits exceptional coaches to work in our freelance team. Coaches who work with us are committed to working with young people and adults, and passionately believe that children with special educational needs can meet and exceed their potential. They go above and beyond every day to help young people and adults meet their goals. We are interested in coaches who specialise in working with young people and adults who are neurodiverse and who are members of or have experience working with young people who identify as LGBTIQA+ as well.
