You will be joining a small but dynamic safeguarding team who are committed to working closely with colleagues both internally and externally to deliver the safeguarding agenda across all YAS services.

You will be specifically involved in supporting the Head of Safeguarding in all aspects of their role, in order to:

- Maintain and assure that Yorkshire Ambulance Service discharges its statutory duty in relation to safeguarding across the regional platform for Yorkshire and the Humber.
- Manage operational safeguarding within Yorkshire Ambulance Service through effective process, practice, procedures, safeguarding training and supervision.
- Contribute to and build strong effective relationships with all multi agency partners and external stakeholders in relation to the Safeguarding agenda.
- Contribute to the audit of safeguarding practice to ensure it remains compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements.

As a Safeguarding Named Professional, you will support and drive the vision of safeguarding within Yorkshire Ambulance Service and be committed to delivering the highest quality outcomes in your day-to-day work & supporting the wider Trust vision and values.

As part of the role, you may be required to travel across the geographical region of the Trust. The working hours of the safeguarding team are Monday-Friday 9-5pm and you will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the team.

The designated base for this role is the Trust HQ at Springhill, Wakefield but due to COVID restrictions the team are currently working from home. The Trust are currently undertaking a review of long term working arrangements, considering hybrid approaches to include some home working with the ability to use online electronic systems such as Microsoft Teams.

You will have a registered professional qualification e.g. nurse, paramedic or social worker with demonstrable experience and compassion in working within a health setting covering safeguarding across the children and adults at risk agenda.
