Punk Against Poverty work to provide immediate assistance to people in Devon facing financial poverty and to provide positive pathways out of poverty for young people through employment and education.

This opportunity is for someone who has a flair for fashion and a passion to make a difference in the local community. Our high street thrift store is the heartbeat of Punk Against Poverty and we are looking for someone with the confidence and enthusiasm to make our customers shopping experience extra special and to help local people about the important work we do to help local communities. This role will involve providing cover at both our St Marychurch and Union Street shop so flexibility is essential

Full training and ongoing support will be provided making this an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to take their first steps into retail work.

**KEY DUTIES**:

- Undertake all required training including face to face, online and through manuels.
- Engage our customers ensuring every customer receives a friendly greeting and a top class service
- Operate till and handle financial transactions including refunds when required
- Ensuring the shop is well stocked and replenished with a range of top quality clothing
- Assist with deliveries, donations and stock handling
- Ensuring the shop and staff areas are kept clean and well presented and housekeeping duties are done in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with all company procedures
- Take responsibility for personal development and actively seek opportunities for improvement. Additional training and courses are available for those who wish to gain further skills.
- Assist with visual merchandising, ensuring displays are eyecatching and visually pleasing
- Act in compliance to health and safety requirements and training

- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality for clients you may meet in the shop
- An ability to work well within a team and to use own initiative.
- Confident in lone working situations (once fully trained)
- Ability to adapt to frequent change and a high pressure environment - you will need to work hard and smart.
- Our dress code is casual but you will be representing our store so being well presented at all times is important
- Experience in a customer service role or retail role is desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of fashions and trends is beneficial.
- Flexibility is important. There may be occasions when you will be needed to work at our second Torquay shop or help in an different department (within your skil set)

**This role involves weekend work.**

**Pay Rates**: Meets national minimum wage.

Because of the changing nature of our organisation your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £4.81-£9.50 per hour
