A successful product design company who supply their products to thousands of leading retailers worldwide are looking for a Trainee Product Technologist to join their Technical & Compliance team. This is a newly created role due to the continued growth ofthe business, and a real opportunity to start a career within this field with a global brand.

Working with global testing houses and manufacturers, you will play a key role in managing the compliance of their products, ensuring product standards are high, and all necessary certification is obtained and testing undertaken. You will work closely withhigh street retailers on bespoke product, ensuring they are kept up to date at all times, and all required documentation is uploaded to their customer portals. You will work collaboratively with the Product Development team during the development process,advising on materials, and assisting with approving packaging and artwork.

**Duties in this Trainee ProductTechnologist role include**:

- Working closely with retailers on bespoke products, updating them with both technical and design files and documentation
- Updating the retailers’ portals with any product certification required
- Ensure the wider business is aware of any specific retailer requirements, communicating requirements from their customer manuals as necessary
- Reviewing and approving artwork from a compliance / technical perspective
- Uploading artwork for FSC / trademark approval
- Working closely with external testing houses, supporting the testing process, and looking at inspection reports
- Working with the product development team from the early stages of development advising on materials used for production, vendors, etc
- Review pre-bulk samples from a technical and quality perspective
- Managing and maintaining the technical files, audit records and trackers for the business
- Ensuring all testing and inspections are completed in line with agreed critical path dates
- Attending meetings and liaising with our Retail Partners on all technical issues

**Skills needed for this Trainee Product Technologist position**:

- 1+ years’ experience of working with a consumer products business or operational function
- A genuine passion for product and retail is a must
- Experience with overseas suppliers and an understanding of the production process a bonus
- Excellent organisational skills, with a deadline driven approach
- Thrives working in a fast-paced role and environment
