In order to be shortlisted for this role, you must be a full member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
**The salary range for this role is £45,000-54,000 depending on post qualification experience.**
What it's like to work here You’ll be working in the beautiful rural Surrey Hills and looking after the River Wey and Godalming Navigations with a mix of traditional agricultural, residential, and commercial tenancies.
The River Wey runs for nearly 20 miles through the heart of Surrey and is one of the first British rivers to be made navigable. This is a hugely varied portfolio of properties to look after.The Wey is popular with a wide variety of craft, and you willbe key to ensuring that appropriate agreements are in place, while working closely alongside our operational property team who have the role of keeping the river navigable whilst ensuring it is a resource for local people and nature to enjoy and benefit from.
The Surrey Hills in contrast comprises heathland, downland, and woodland with a mix of residential, commercial, and agricultural tenancies throughout. You will be responsible for assessing and managing a wide range of requests ranging from our tenants,utility providers, statutory stake holders to event organisers. You will need to have strong asset management skills and be able to identify future opportunities for the portfolio whilst balancing the needs of nature and people.
You’ll build on established strong foundations, and take on unique, interesting estate management work and associated projects that will shape the future of the UK’s biggest private landowner and the properties it owns and looks after. You will be instrumentalin delivering the vision for our Surrey Hills and River Wey portfolios working within a team of other Estate Management professionals. You will have the opportunity to combine your solid professional knowledge with creative thinking to shape the future ofthese unique landscapes for nature, climate and people.
What you'll be doing No two days are the same for a National Trust Estate Manager, and the variety this brings is what makes it so challenging and exciting. You could be helping a tenant farmer discover new value from a more sustainable approach to their business. You mightalso be part of a team of specialists mapping out ways we’ll make our landscapes more resilient to change. Or you could be working with consultants on a major maintenance or renovation project for an historic estate building.
You’ll work in collaboration with a large and varied group of internal and external stakeholders, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys and is able to use their technical and personal skills in order to build strong and lasting relationships.
Who we're looking for We’d love to hear from you, if you have the following skills and experience:
- **A member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors**:
- In-depth knowledge of land use, agriculture, asset management, land management, conservation, and sustainable development
- Highly organised and committed to delivering excellent client service
- The ability to lead a team focused on delivering excellent results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Strong demonstrable consulting skills of listening, building trust and acting to deliver a high quality service
