We are committed to each individual and we look forward to a Brighter Future together. *What will you be doing:* *ACE Markets* - *General*_ - Financial reporting in line with US GAAP, the internal control framework and Corporate Policies - Central Shared Service point of contact for market queries - Ownership of third-party relationships (BDO &EY) to ensure reconciliation between US and local GAAP reporting - Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, working closely with the ACE Business Controller and AR teams - Evaluation of current finance processes, with continuous improvement mindset, and challenge ways of working to drive reporting efficiencies - Management of Oracle Phase 0 ad hoc projects, including but not limited to direct invoicing, aged debt reconciliations & returns processing - Ensure adherence to regulations including US GAAP and internal controls - Ensure documentation of financial processes for audit is reviewed quarterly - Responsible for the legal entity budget and forecast for market and submission to Corporate - Working with the Regional Tax & Treasury and local market finance team to assist with information required for Statutory Audits and local returns - Working closely with Internal/External Audit to support location reviews, SOX aND year end audits - *Reporting*_ - Lead month end review of financial results with local market to ensure accurately reflects current month activities - Key contact for Corporate Consolidations for ACE Financial Reporting submissions - Prepare the Financial Reporting information for Corporate, including relevant variance commentary - Provide standardized monthly financial pack to ACE Business Controller - Prepare balance sheet reconciliations - *Revenue*_ - Ownership of revenue reporting and reconciliations for ACE entities in collaboration with local market finance - Review of month end revenue to ensure recognition is appropriate and in accordance with Company policy and US GAAP - Ensure appropriate reporting of rebates and customer incentives - Ensure appropriate quarterly revenue recognition and cut-off adjustments - Process any necessary manual adjustments to revenue in COGNOS BI - *OpEx*_ - Responsible for the completion of the department operating expenses for ACE market, including relevant accruals and prepayments - Work with ACE market finance to ensure sales teams incentives and marketing activities accurately reflected - Liaise with ACE market finance team to assess Trade Receivables position and ensure appropriate bad debt provisions are in place in accordance with Corporate policy - Prepare monthly reporting and analysis of spend and lead meetings to review final monthly position with local market - Complete and load headcount reporting into EPM *UK* - *Reporting*_ - Lead month end review of financial results for other UK entities Financial Reporting to ensure accurately reflects current month activities - Prepare the Financial Reporting information for Corporate, including relevant variance commentary - Key contact for Corporate Consolidations for other UK Financial Reporting submissions - Prepare balance sheet reconciliations - Responsible for the legal entity budget and forecast and submission to Corporate for other UK entities - *Opex*_ - Responsible for the completion of department operating expenses for specific regional and global Business Streams, including relevant accruals and prepayments - Prepare monthly reporting and analysis of spend and lead meetings to review final monthly position with local market - Partner with relevant business stakeholders to ensure periodic reporting accurately reflects all costs and activities - Support the SSC Accounts Payable team to ensure appropriate coding of costs within the GL and/or cost centres where questions arise and correcting entries at source where required - *Other*_ - Supporting continuous improvement of existing Financial Reporting processes, structures, and systems including the implementation of enabling technologies and initiatives where necessary - Partner with key stakeholders to provide finance support for the wind-down of discontinued LCP operations - Provide coaching, training and support to wider team members - Complete ad-hoc requests and other duties as directed by the Financial Accounting Manager - UK *What skills and experience should you have?* You will bring excellence in customer service and the ability to build robust internal relationships using strong communication skills. Additionally, you will have good analytic and problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and be self-motivated with a high degree of initiative. Other skills/ experience include: - A high level of computer literacy is required - Ability to participate in a multi-cultural, multi-linguist operating environment - Intermediate knowledge of MS Office including but not limited to pivot tables and lookup functionality in Excel. - Ideally 1-3 years’ accounting experience preferably within a large multinational company or Shared Service environment - Experience of integrated ERP systems (e.g. Oracle R12 (preferred), SAP) - Demonstrable ability to build internal relationships with a strong "customer service" focus - Experience gained in a Global/US matrix managed business is highly desirable - Experience of a matrix style organization - Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) required *CooperVision values* Our four values define and underpin our unique culture; we are _dedicated_, we are _inventive_, we are _friendly_, and we are _partners_.
