Our ambition is to inspire clients, their relatives and professionals alike by consistently attaining excellent outcomes, supporting people with compassion and kindness.
We are currently looking for a Support Worker to join our team in St Brides Major to assist a 10-year-old boy with complex needs. This role operates on a part-time basis working an average of 16 hours per week.
**The Benefits**:
- An hourly rate of £14.50 per hour on weekdays and £16.50 per hour on Saturdays

**The Role**
As a Support Worker, you will provide support and care to the client, a delightful 10-year-old boy with complex needs at his home in St Brides Major.
You will spend quality time with the client, who enjoys Spider-Man video games and one on one attention, engaging him in lots of different activities, as well as implementing therapies as prescribed by the MDT.
Supporting the client to attend and participate in activities within the wider community such as swimming and skiing lessons, you will ensure his safety and physical wellbeing at all times.
**About You**
To be considered as a Support Worker, you will need:
- A good understanding of the personal and physical needs of a client with physical and
cognitive difficulties
- To be registered with OR be working towards registration with Social Care Wales
- A recognised qualification (NVQ Level 2 or above or equivalent) is desirable
- A full, valid driving licence
Ideally, you will have experience of providing learning, cognitive or behavioural support, particularly to clients with physical and communication difficulties.
Experience of sensory stimulation and knowledge of cerebral palsy and sight impairment would be highly beneficial.
It would be advantageous to have competent IT skills.
Please note, this position requires you to hold a full, valid driving licence as you will be required to drive the client’s vehicle.
An example shift pattern would be 15:00 to 19:00 three evenings per week and four hours on Saturday, 10:00 to 14:00, with some flexibility to fit in with other commitments you may already have.
This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS. You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
This post is compliant with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 relating to Occupational Requirements.
We are a CIW Registered healthcare business who help our clients recruit their own support workers. You will be employed directly by the client; however, Westcountry Case Management oversee all aspects of the clients care package on his behalf.
Previous applicants need not apply.
Please note, we reserve the right to interview and appoint earlier than the stated closing date, should there be a good response to the advert.
