**About the Service/Department**
Senior Hospital Based IDVA (SHIDVA) is part of the wider Hestia Domestic Abuse Support Services provision in Slough and the neighbouring counties.Based at two hospitals across the Frimley NHS trust, the aim of the role is to provide immediate high quality support to people experiencing domestic abuse and other gender based violence and to participate in multiagency work including MARAC participation. This role also entails development and a delivery of specialist DA training to staff at the Trust to increase their knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse and appropriate responses to the needs of people experiencing domestic abuse.
Car use is essential as the role is co-located in two different hospitals in the area.
**About the role**
To provide practical and emotional support to victims of domestic abuse and other gender based violence. This includes supporting and signposting Trust staff who are victims of abuse.
Some other main responsibilities of the role include:
- To create and maintain strong links with local statutory and voluntary sector agencies as part of the longer terms support pathways available to the service users
- To ensure all work is recorded to a high standard within Hestia’s casework management system
- To be an ambassador for Hestia, working in partnership with other agencies to ensure an effective, coordinated community response to survivors of domestic violence and their children
**About you**
- Experience and ability to design and deliver specialist DA training to relevant professionals within the Trust
- Ability to monitor, evaluate and incorporate learning from training for the development of the service
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately
- Experience of promoting and developing service user involvement/co
- production
- Excellent administrative and time management skills
- Ability to work confidently on own initiative
- Evidence of being able to work effectively and be calm and resilient under pressure
- Previous experience of using computer-based systems to accurately record work
