**Are you an animal lover who would like to play an active part in the running of a local RSPCA charity?**

The RSPCA Buckinghamshire South are currently recruiting a volunteer charity trustee to complement the committee members already in their role.

This is a home working role, with in person attendance once a month at our committee meetings near Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

**Our charity**

The RSPCA Buckinghamshire South is a separately registered charity from the main RSPCA. Operating at a local level across south Buckinghamshire, we offer animal rehoming through a network of fosterers and educational services, as well as providing financial assistance for veterinary treatments of animals whose owners are struggling financially.

Our charity is made up of volunteers and paid staff who raise the majority of our income to through donations from members of the public and from our shops located in Chesham, Princes Risborough, and Burnham selling donated goods.

**The role**

This is a strategic role overseeing the effective governance, assurance, performance and development of the charity. Trustees form the committee, who hold ultimate responsibility for the charity.

Day to day operational matters are managed by our Head of Charity who leads a team of volunteers and paid staff.

Being a trustee is a hand off approach. However, in addition to the responsibilities associated with the trustee role, there are opportunities to help out at all other levels across the charity.

**As a trustee you will need to be**:

- A member of our charity and live in south Buckinghamshire.
- Able to make decisions that are in the best interest of the charity.
- Able to give a minimum of one hour per week to the role.
- Able to attend committee meetings (either in person or online).
- Willing to represent the charity.

This is an exciting opportunity which may favour a person who has recently retired or has free time they wish to spend helping our charity. As an animal welfare charity all interested individuals need to be sympathetic to our vision and mission statement.
