If you’re a parent or carer of a child with additional needs, you already have the insight, empathy, and resilience to make a brilliant SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a flexible, term-time role designed specifically for people who need a family-friendly schedule—and who want to use their own journey with SEND to help others.
**The Role**
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups in a specialist SEND setting
- Help children with Autism, sensory needs, and learning difficulties
- Assist with emotional regulation, communication, and engagement
- Provide calm and consistent support to build trust and independence
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Use practical strategies that can benefit children at school and at home
This role is designed for people who need flexible hours and want to use their personal experience to make a difference.
**The Ideal Person and Skills/Education Needed**
- Have experience—formal or informal—supporting a child with SEND
- Are seeking part-time or flexible work during school hours

**Working Hours**
