**~ Housing (Homelessness) Caseworker ~**

**Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with St Helens Council to appoint a Housing Caseworker to their Homelessness Assessment Team.**

**3-6 Month agency contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.**

**Full Time Position (37 Hours per week)**

**Location - WA10 1DH**

**Rate of Pay - £13.42+ per hour - Negotiable depending on experience**

**_About the Role;_
Provide information, advice and assistance covering all available housing options whilst supporting the sustainment of existing accommodation or accessing alternative accommodation where required.

**_Key Responsibilities;_**
- Provide effective housing information, advice and assistance and to promote and refer customers to all available housing options, including social housing, specialist accommodation, private sector housing, low cost home ownership and other initiatives.
- Liaise with a wide range of agencies to prevent homelessness, and/or enable customers to obtain accommodation themselves or to secure accommodation is available for them through the use of a range of measures (e.g. mediation, rent bond scheme, court representation/advocacy).
- Receive and respond to referrals from the Assessment Officer of applicants requiring assistance and assessment through the homelessness legislation.
- Be responsible for carrying out visits within applicants existing accommodation and interviewing customers with a housing problem to collect information to assist in the assessment process under the Housing Act 1996 Parts VI and VII

**_Job Requirements;_**
- Eligibility to Work in the UK (Passport or Working Visa)
- Enhanced DBS & Barred List Check (Child and Adults)
