**Who are we?**

**What does an apprentice support worker do?**
The Apprenticeship will take approximately 12 months to complete, and will allow you to achieve a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. You will work alongside experienced staff members, and learn the skills and knowledge you will need to become a confident Social Care Worker. You will be fully supported by your colleagues and your Manager throughout your Apprenticeship, and you will develop valuable experience within the industry.
The role of a support worker is to ensure the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. Supporting someone with learning disability isn’t just personal care, you could be taking people shopping, cinema, bowling, spending days on trips out and many more activities.
**Where would I work?**
Heronsmede is a residential home that supports eight adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities, associated complex needs and challenging behaviours. As well as 24 hour support, the individuals living here benefit from positive behaviour support provided by our own in-house service, to support their emotional and mental wellbeing.
