Carer Support
**The job itself**:
A lovely 75 year old lady requires carer support for around 1.5 hours per day. This is split into visits between ½ hour over midday and 1 hour in the evening Monday to Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays support will be required for 1.5 hours in the AM, 30 mins over lunch time and 1 hour in the evening.
The lady had strokes in 2018 that have left her with pronounced right sided weakness. This means she can’t walk without someone being in attendance to make sure she is safe, nor can the lady perform many other domestic tasks like cooking. The lady needs help with showering and dressing, but is self sufficient in the toilet. The lady is still mentally alert, although needs a little time in conversation to reply.
The lady needs help at various times of the day. In the morning, there’s an hour and a half to help her shower, dress and have breakfast. At lunch time there’s half an hour to help her walk and get any snack or drinks she needs. At teatime there’s also a one hour opportunity for a walk and the main meal of the day. In the evening, there’s another half an hour to get her comfortable watching TV with her feet up to help keep her legs from swelling.
Exact times for these activities are flexible and for arrangement between the lady and her helper.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
