We are looking to enhance our team numbers within our Patient Catering department and are we’re looking for all-rounders to join.

The work involves general catering duties including preparation of food, Plating and service, general cleaning duties and the operation of mechanical industrial type dishwasher machines.
- The provision of a high quality and professional food and beverage service to all staff, patients, and visitors.
- To ensure all Codes of Practice for Health & Safety, Food Safety & Hygiene, COSHH and HACCP are adhered too.
- Carry out cleaning duties and maintain hygiene levels, to ensure Food Hygiene Legislation and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point procedures are conformed to and maintained.
- Ensure correct storage, labelling and rotation of all chilled produce and monitoring of refrigerated and heated storage equipment
- To always maintain food quality and excellent customer service, and to action any defects immediately and proactively
- Preparation of meals, snacks and sandwiches as directed.

- To safely use all catering related equipment and to report any maintenance defects and problems immediately to the estates department.
- To monitor levels of waste and report them to the Supervisor
- Operation of the electric transportation vehicles in line with the Trust’s policies.
- Cleaning of floors/surfaces and machinery as identified in departments cleaning schedule.
- Collection and distribution of function requests.
- Security of all Trust property when on duty, in accordance with Departmental Policy.
- To always maintain a pleasant customer focus, providing assistance with food choices taking into consideration cultural and dietary requirements.
- To contribute to the development of the Catering Service by putting forward suggestions for improvements
- Any other related tasks as identified by your Line Manager.
- To complete daily schedules, temperature records and timesheets via app-based software packages.
- Takes responsibility to ensure that Professional Registration is always up to date and does not lapse or expire and to inform line management immediately with any concerns of if registration lapses or expires (all registered staff).
- You will be required to undertake a basic DBS Check.
- The Trust requires all new starters to subscribe to the DBS update service, where it is a requirement of the role.
- Be responsible for maintaining own vaccinations that are applicable to the role.
- Safeguard patient confidentiality at all times, including adherence to the Data Protection Act.
- Attend statutory and mandatory training and refresher courses as necessary.
- Be aware of the responsibilities of all employees to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors and staff.
- Ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard, and in accordance with current quality initiative within the area of work and the Trust’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
- Have a commitment to identifying and minimising risk, report all incidents and report to the manager any risks which need to be assessed.
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade and in line with the requirements of the post.
