As our Head of Product Practice you'll oversee the Practice Pool by establishing, monitoring, and evolving the capability, standards and methodologies that support the end-to-end product ownership process. Starting with strategy creation, product planning and build, to launch and optimisation - consulting with stakeholders, UX and technology throughout the lifecycle.

Act as the voice of the ‘customer’, and ensure the team translate needs into a product roadmap and backlog, that is constantly prioritised and manage the team’s capacity to maximise customer and business value.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the Product Owner Practice Pool
- Lead and manage the Practice Pool team of Lead Product Owners and Product Owners
- Own the creation and development of the Product Roadmap(s) to ensure it is customer led, digitally enabled and focussed on value delivery
- Collaborates with other Practice Pool and Centre Of Excellence Leads to support the building and managing of the wider capabilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders of every level across the business units
- Active leadership in the idea to feature process, validating and prioritising requests as they progress through the stages
- Ensures the team is fully enabled to deliver against the Halfords Strategy and that performance is measured against KPIs
- Ensure the Product Owner Practice Pool is resourced and capable of delivering across all stages of the Idea to Decision and Change Delivery lifecycle
- Manage the quality of the Product Owner standards and methodologies and coach the Product Owner team to meet the standards required
- Establish and maintain the Product Owner skills framework along with an approach to using it to profile and develop individuals within the Product Owner Practice Pool
- Maintain a holistic and strategic view of change to ensure consistency of customer experience and efficiency of change
- Lead communication and governance frameworks (with delivery leads) across 3rd parties, SLT to ensure awareness of Product Roadmap, performance against forecast outcomes and best practice are understood
- Manage the 3rd party relationships that support the digital ecosystem by ensuring delivery against SLA’s, financial governance and strategic fit via QBRs, commercial review and best practice forums.

**Key Skills/Experience**
- Extensive experience in product management, demonstrating successful development and delivery of product strategies, roadmaps through to product launch and optimisation
- Excellent coaching skills that can be effectively used with individuals in performance and development conversations
- Extensive experience and passion for the product area and a deep understanding of the customer
- Experience of managing successful delivery in an Agile software environment to deliver customer-led outcomes
- Excellent communication skills and strong experience in dealing with business stakeholders - relatability to non-technical business users and technical resources
- Excellent requirements / competitive analysis skills, pricing and financial planning
- You are a connector, bringing people together you help make improvements even in areas you do not own.
- You have the ability to strongly influence decisions.

**Flexible work from home options available but some travel to our support centre in Redditch Worcestershire will be required at times.**
