Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join the Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Talking Therapies service. The service is delivered by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust, in collaboration with Coventry and Warwickshire MIND, and offers a variety of support and psychological therapies to the Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull adult population. Our interventions are diverse and evidence based, ranging from guided self-help and face-to-face or video therapy, telephone support to workshops and courses.

The main roles and responsibilities of the Clinical or Counselling Psychologist are to clinically lead the service ensuring that all treatment is evidence based and in line with NICE guidance. The post-holder must be comfortable taking a lead on research and development opportunities available to the service ensuring that our clients get the highest quality care possible by our fully trained and clinically supervised team.
To be responsible for the systematic provision of psychological therapies at a high level of expertise to adults within NHS Talking therapies.
To provide clinical leadership to ensure that access to the pathway is in line with populations needs and best practice guidance.
To provide clinical leadership in accordance with local and national NHS Talking therapies mental health delivery targets with emphasis on the expansion into key clinical priority areas as advised by the system.
Maintain an excellent working relationship with Commissioners and key stakeholders and ensuring service delivery in line with local and national priorities and needs, providing highly skilled clinical knowledge, opinion and expertise.
Lead and present on key strategic agenda items at NHS Talking Therapies Programme Board meetings, provider
- s forums, local interface meetings.
To lead on the clinical governance of the service provided by all service staff within the relevant service area.
To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
To contribute to the professional leadership and clinical excellence for CBT and other evidenced
- based psychological therapies, as recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to the service area and members of CWPT Mental Health Directorate providing NICE-compliant psychological therapies.
