Colne, United Kingdom Resurgence Case Management Ltd Full time

This role runs from 6.50am until 9.00pm - 2 shifts per week totalling 28 hours per week, however we are looking for people who would be able to pick up either an extra day or waking night shift to cover holiday/sickness when required so some flexibility is necessary.

We are seeking to recruit Support Workers with a desire to commit to a positive supportive team focused on providing high quality support for the young people we are supporting.

This really is a unique team of kind positive people and it is a wonderful working environment that delivers bespoke support to two young people with very complex needs that facilitates them to have a very good quality of life.

The people you will be supporting are two delightful young people in their twenties and thirties living in their specially adapted bungalow next to the family home with parents, younger siblings and pets.

The support team is developing to be independent of day to day input from the family. Parents will be your named employer.

**What the job entails**:

- Providing care and support for two young people in their twenties who have cerebral palsy and complex disabilities, both need complete assistance with all of their activities of living and associated health conditions including epilepsy, respiratory difficulties as well as postural management.
- Having fun and helping create a good quality of life is a vital part of the role. They are both bright and cheerful and very much enjoy the company of others, socialising in restaurants and cafes, participating in arts and crafts, watching films, football, music events, visiting the theatre and outside activities.
- You will be able to use your own initiative and work comfortably and sensitively within a friendly, lively, home.
- You will be joining a team of friendly and positive people delivering a high standard of care and support 24/7, and be supported very well in all aspects of your work.
- Experience in working with young people with additional needs is preferred but personality, common sense and an ability to work flexibly and with initiative are just as important.
- You will especially need the ability to support the young people have time and space to express their own thoughts, wishes and character.
- Car driver and non-smoker essential.
- We are looking for honest, reliable straightforward people who will commit to making the quality of life of these two young people the best it can be.

**Benefits and Rewards**
- To be treated with respect and be part of a positive team, with comprehensive training and ongoing support, including that of a highly skilled therapy team.
- To be facilitated to deliver high quality care and support in a CQC regulated environment, yet in a bespoke team dedicated to the support of the two individuals, not part of a large organisation.
- To work with two young people who have profound disabilities, who will inspire you and make this job very satisfying.
