Equine Groom Apprentice

Busy livery yard who's water treadmill was first opened to the public in October 2016. The owner is a qualified Equine Body Worker, BHSII and was one of the first four people in the UK to gain the Dressage Specific UKCC Level 3 Certificate in Coaching and am an accredited British Dressage Coach. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual looking to develop their skills in horse care. You will work alongside our current team handling and caring for our horses. All aspects of horse care will be covered, perfect for anyone looking to get into the industry.

Duties include:

- Mucking out
- Yard duties
- Turning out
- Tacking up
- Assisting at competitions
- Feeding
- Riding and lunging opportunities
- Helping with Livery clients/ horses
- Assisting with water treadmill

**Desired qualifications**
- English and maths GCSE’s, or equivalents, are desired
- Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care to be eligible

**Future prospects**
- Possible progression onto a level 3 apprenticeship
- Current yard manager trained with KEITS and is still with the employer

**Things to consider**
- KEITS Training Services Ltd reserves the right to close the vacancy earlier than the listed closing date should the need arise.

**Training**
- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.

**Job Type**: Apprenticeship

Pay: From £6.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
