**We have an exciting opportunity to welcome an enthusiastic Ward Administrator on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Oldham Hospital.**

Here you will be integrated to an well established multi disciplinary team supporting and delivering excellent quality care to the babies and families which experience neonatal services.

Oldham is one of three tertiary units which supports the North West, Greater Manchester Neonatal Network with babies requiring specialised intensive care.

You will be involved in providing a wide range of administrative services supporting the high quality service delivered on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This post is highly suitable to an applicant who is working at a similar grade within the NHS or working in a non NHS setting with the aspiration to enter into a health care setting.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have a current understanding or be willing to develop an understanding of the neonatal objectives to support the team to undertake their range of duties effectively which demonstrates assurance, performance and utilisation of the Trust values. This will range from arranging meetings with internal and external agencies/professionals in a professional and appropriate manner, diary scheduling, complex minute taking, data collection and interpretation. This is not exhaustive of the duties required and there is an expectation that you will share other administrative duties with non clinical based staff. You will require good IT skills and a good working of MS Office software, experience of compiling reports would be an advantage.

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- RSA level II/III or NVQ 3 or equivalent
- ECDL or equivalent /demonstrated skills
- English GCSE/O Level/ equivalent - grade C or above

Desirable criteria
- Shorthand

Experience

Essential criteria
- Experience of office management and secretarial procedures
- Experience of MS office and packages
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Good command of understanding English

Desirable criteria
- NHS experience
- Experience of preparing duty rotas
- Experience of using NHS Trust specific data systems
- Experience of procurement systems

**Skills**:
Essential criteria
- Advanced keyboard skills
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Proven organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload with interruptions and changing priorities
- Ability to multi task
